The ASDS software controls the release of ammonia from the cartridges. Its sophisticated algorithms ensure a fast start-up and an accurate and highly energy efficient dosing of ammonia in all driving conditions.

The software is developed in accordance with the guidelines for best practices of MISRA (The Motor Industry Software Reliability Association) and can run from an engine control unit (ECU) or separate dosing control unit, as required by the customer.

The software has been thoroughly tested in various computer simulations and finally for more than 250,000 kilometres of tests on different OEM vehicles.

As an important part of the system, the Ammonia Flow Manifold is also controlled by the system software. The AFM consists of valve and sensor types known by the automotive industry and is designed to dose accurately even with the low NH3-pressure from the cartridges during operation.

Finally, the software contains functions to calculate the remaining quantity of ammonia in the system thereby enabling the OEM to implement proper driver inducement strategies to ensure that the vehicle is never operated without a functioning NOx aftertreatment
